As HelpOnClick has been constantly updating and coming up with new improvements, we’ve been working on providing new ways to integrate our Live Chat software into a Helpdesk application. And we’ve come up with some great additional instructions you can use in order to easily integrate Live Chat into your website.
Integrate Live Chat with your Helpdesk
Because your customers’ experience is one of the most important parts of your business, it’s vital to provide them with all possible communication channels, so they can reach you for assistance anytime and in a fast and easy way. This is why, Live Chat support can be a great way to gain customer satisfaction, even if you already have a Helpdesk system. To make the process easier for you, HelpOnClick has developed new integration instructions, for some of the most popular Helpdesk tools.
With our HelpDesk integration instructions, you can easily install Live Chat on your Customer Support Portal and you can also turn your chats into support tickets, by forwarding transcripts to your support email address.

Integrate live chat with Zendesk
Install the chat widget on your Zendesk support portal
On your HelpOnClick console, go to Admin->Code and copy the HTML code
- Login to Zendesk admin and choose “Settings” and then “Extensions” sub menu
- Click on “add widget”
- Scroll down and choose “Global JavaScript”
- In “Title” field enter “HelpOnClick”
- In “Available for” field choose “People who are not agents” (or any other choice)
- In “Content” field:
1. Enter “</script>
2. Paste the HTML code
3. Click “Submit”
Forward HelpOnClick transcript emails to your Zendesk help desk
- On your HelpOnClick console, go to Admin->Settings
- Under “Email to collect left messages”, enter the your Zendesk email address
- Tick “Automatically send all transcripts to this email” and hit “Save”

Integrate live chat with Freshdesk
Forward HelpOnClick transcript emails to your Freshdesk help desk
- On your HelpOnClick console, go to Admin->Settings
- Under “Email to collect left messages”, enter the your Freshdesk email address
- Tick “Automatically send all transcripts to this email” and hit “Save”

Integrate live chat with Desk.com (previously Assislty.com)
Install the chat widget on your Desk.com support portal
- Log into your desk.com account and go to Channels
- If desired, disable the Desk.com (Assistly) default chat form, by going to Channels > Chat > Advanced Settings and turning “Chat Enabled” to “Off”
- Under the “Support Center” section, select “Web Template” and click the Edit button
- On your HelpOnClick console, go to Admin->Code and copy the HTML code
- Scroll down the template editor until you find the “Contact Us Content”. Paste the code in the box. The contact section is placed in the portal’s sidebar and allows the widget and/or icon to appear on all pages of the portal.
- Click Update to save the changes
Forward HelpOnClick transcript emails to your Desk.com (Assistly) help desk
- If you didn’t already setup your Desk.com mailbox, you can use this tutorial video to set it up
- On your HelpOnClick console, go to Admin->Settings
- Under “Email to collect left messages”, enter the your Desk.com (Assistly) email address
- Tick “Automatically send all transcripts to this email” and hit “Save”
- That’s all. Your left messages and chat transcripts are now turned into support tickets on your Desk.com (Assistly) helpdesk.
